Smoking Ceremony 

As we begin the new school year, we honour the tradition of a Smoking Ceremony to welcome our students. This sacred ritual cleanses the space and people, removing negativity while inviting protection and well-being.

The smoke, fire, and materials used—whether specific leaves or bark—are carefully chosen to suit the ceremony’s purpose. The ceremony involved an Elder lit leaves and discussed the significance of them, while encouraging the classes to walk through the smoke.This beautiful tradition sets a positive foundation as we start the year together.
