Supporting Your Child’s Maths P-2 Learning at Home

We’re excited to share a series of short, practical maths videos to help you support your learner at home. These have been created by the Victorian Mathematics Ambassadors in partnership with the Department of Education and the Victorian Catholic Education Authority.

Designed for Foundation to Year 2 students, the videos show simple, hands-on ways to build strong maths skills using everyday ideas and language. They’re easy to follow and include practical examples you can try together at home. Each video first shows how the concept is taught in a classroom setting then offers simple ideas for how you can support the same learning at home.

These early skills are really important for building your child’s confidence and understanding in maths.

You might like to watch a video together, try out an activity or revisit ideas your child is learning at school. Even a few minutes can make a big difference!
