Backpacks4VicKids Family Day
Sunday 12th October 2025 at 10 am – 2 pm Edendale Farm (see attached flyer)

Diamond Valley, Eltham, Nillumbik, Donvale, Plenty Valley, Park Orchards, Warrandyte, and Whittlesea Lions are excited to invite you to our Family Fun Day event, supporting Backpacks4VicKids, which helps displaced Children.
Did you know that 45,000 Australian children are in an out-of-home care placement, such as foster care? Approximately 4,000 new placements occur each year in Victoria alone. Children are often placed quickly into foster care, kinship care, or emergency accommodation without much more than what they are wearing. B4VK provides them with essential items to ease feelings of loss and to help with their relocation. The estimated cost of a pack is $ 100.

The Whittlesea Lions Club would like to invite you to a community recognition of ‘World Mental Health Day’. We would appreciate your help in raising awareness and unveiling a new addition to the Whittlesea Lions Park.
The World Mental Health Day theme 2025 is “Community: Supporting Mental Wellbeing Together”. This theme emphasises the importance of strong, supportive communities in promoting mental health and fostering a sense of belonging. It highlights how communities play a vital role in helping people feel connected, valued, and less alone, especially during difficult times.
We value the connectivity and support of the many community groups that we have worked with and supported during the more than half a century we have been serving the Whittlesea community – it would be great if we could all come together to show the strength of us all in recognising and raising awareness of mental health issues and the support environments that we create for our community.
