Welcome Back to Term 4

I hope everyone enjoyed a restful break and had the chance to recharge for the exciting final term of the year. Term 4 is always a busy and rewarding time as we celebrate our students’ growth, prepare for transitions, and look ahead to 2026. This term, our focus will continue to be on high-quality learning, student wellbeing, and maintaining strong connections across our school community.  Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.Let’s make Term 4 a positive and successful conclusion to another fantastic year at Whittlesea Primary School.

2026 Class Placements

As we begin preparing for 2026, our school will once again utilise Class Creator, an online tool that helps us create balanced classes for the new school year. Class Creator enables consideration of a range of important factors, including each student’s academic progress, social and emotional needs, friendships, and any additional support they may require. The program helps staff create well-balanced classes where every student has the best opportunity to learn and thrive. Teachers utilise their in-depth knowledge of each student to guide the process, and leadership staff carefully review all classes before class orientation sessions begin.

If parents have a separation request for consideration, please submit via the school's email address, clearly stating the reason for the request. While all requests will be carefully reviewed, please note that due to the limited number of classes in some year levels, we cannot guarantee that all separation requests will be possible.

Students have the opportunity to submit preferences on friendships that will support both their learning and wellbeing outcomes.  We consider all information to ensure that the final class placements are made in the best interests of the entire school community. We appreciate your trust and support as we work to create positive and productive learning environments for all students in 2026.

Ongoing Improvements (Accessibility & More)

Whilst we do feel like these improvements have been going on 'forever' as a student said to me this week, I can confidently say that we are getting far closer to completion than when we started.  We still have some balustrades to be installed and some touch-ups to be made here and there before we complete the sign-off with the contractors. We are also considering planter boxes to ensure that new 'clearings' can be made more appealing than just a big blank space.

 Sandpit Revamp

We have continued to 'revamp' the sandpit with not only some new sand, but also with some new toys. We are still awaiting the arrival of additional items, which will complete this work. It was wonderful to see the joy and excitement on the faces of all our Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 students.
