Primary Assembly On Pause: Monday 6th July

As a school we are excited to welcome all families to our Primary Assemblies each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

We wish to advise that our Primary Assembly will be on pause on Monday 6th July due to a Chess Interschool Competition that DCS are hosting. 

We will be offering takeaway coffees from the Jiloa Cafe as usual if parents wish to stop by for a visit and a chat in the undercover area.

Please join us on Wednesday for our Worship Wednesday assembly from 8.30am in the Jiloa Centre.

Primary Creative Arts Afternoon

Last Wednesday afternoon, the Jiloa Centre was transformed into a vibrant celebration of creativity as our Primary Creative Arts Afternoon brought together students from Kindergarten through to Year 6. It was a truly special occasion, filled with colour, music, and the joy of shared expression.

This year, students created artworks inspired by the theme “Wholehearted”, which is also the DCS theme for 2026. Each piece reflected thoughtful engagement with the idea, and it was wonderful to see how our students interpreted and expressed this message in unique and meaningful ways. The space itself looked absolutely stunning, with displays that captured both the imagination and the heart.

In addition to the visual arts, we were treated to a variety of musical performances. Students in Years 3 to 6 took to the stage with confidence, showcasing their talents through both instrumental and vocal items. A highlight of the afternoon was the large choir performance, where our students came together in a powerful and uplifting display of unity and joy.

It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout from our DCS community, celebrating and encouraging our students. The afternoon was a beautiful reminder of God’s creativity and the unique gifts He has given each child.

A special thank you to Mrs Abagael Dance, Mrs Jacqueline Goelst, Mrs Madeline Newton, and Mr Robb Dennis for their many hours of preparation and their ongoing support of the arts at DCS.

Year 4 Camp: Parent Information Session

We are looking forward to our 2026 Port Arthur Excursion, which promises to be a wonderful learning experience for our students. Planning is well underway, and we are excited to start sharing details with you.

We warmly invite you to join us at our Parent Information Session on Wednesday 8th July at 3:30pm in Year 3/4 Dance classroom. This will be a great chance to hear more about the camp and have any general questions answered. If you are unable to make it, all the information will be sent home afterwards. 

As we prepare, we invite you to join us in praying for all involved, that this experience will be memorable, enriching, and full of growth for our students.
