Principal's Report

Dear St Francis Xavier's Parents and Carers,

Welcome back for another wonderful school term! I trust you all had a safe and enjoyable holiday break and found time to do things at a different pace throughout the holidays. Our school welcomes some new faces too! Mr Enda O’Connell in Year 3, Mrs Brooke Woodhill in Kinder and Miss Kristie Toomey as an additional AEA. Please join me in making our newest staff members feel very welcome to the St Francis Xavier’s school community.

Farewell

We also bid farewell to staff members in Term 2. Mrs Chelsea Promnitz and Ms April Squire who are on maternity leave, Mr Ray Field and Mr Keith Flood who have moved on to other adventures outside of Narrabri. We wish all of these staff all the best with their future endevours and thank them for their dedication and fond memories they leave with us.

Parent Teacher Meetings - Term 2

Thank you to all our parents and families who attended interviews with classroom teachers last term. It was a chance to chat about the learning progress to date and the direction for learning across the coming semester. Our staff certainly appreciated the opportunity to set Semester 2 goals in conjunction with our families. 

P & F Meeting - 

Tuesday 28th July, 5:15pm

The next meeting of the P & F Association will be on Tuesday 28th July, 5:15pm. We welcome any new or returning faces so you can hear about upcoming plans for the P & F and to share ways and possible opportunities for us to help strengthen the St Francis Xavier’s family community.

NAIDOC Week Term 3

Miss Maddy and Miss Kristie have been working behind the scenes to prepare our whole school assembly, upcoming activities and interactive lessons to celebrate NAIDOC Week at St Francis Xavier’s. The theme in 2026 is "50 Years of Deadly" and honors the rich 50-year history of NAIDOC Week celebrations across Australia. In Indigenous Australian English, "deadly" is a term of high praise, signifying excellence, strength, and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity and culture. The milestone celebrates the Elders, leaders, and community who have fought for recognition and preserved First Nations cultures over the past five decades.

Grandparents and Special Persons Day

One of the highlights of Term 2 was our annual Grandparents and Special Persons Day! Thank you to all our families who attended the special assembly and made our afternoon at school so special for our students. The items were very entertaining and melted many hearts.  

Athletics Carnival

A very big thank you to Mrs Janelle Nehrkorn, Mrs Jess Craig, Ms Becky Hogan and all our staff for their organisation of the school Athletics Carnival. There is a huge amount of planning and preparation that goes into an event such as this. Thanks should also go to all our volunteers who made the day possible - without your help the carnival cannot go ahead.  It is also necessary to recognise our groundsman, Mr Keith Flood and our parents who played a large role in carting all the necessary resources to and from the High School. This was a huge undertaking and we are extremely grateful for your help.

Dance Extravaganza

Get your dancing shoes on…it’s back…Dance Extravaganza! Aleeta and Miss Lauren are set to return later in the term to help deliver the dance curriculum component of PDHPE. More details and information to follow in the coming weeks…get excited!
