This week we held our senior pathways information evening where families and their students who are transitioning to senior studies were able to hear about the range of programs offered, tour the campus and have an opportunity to speak with subject teachers. Many of our support staff were also in attendance, allowing families to explore the range of services available to support students through their final years of schooling and prepare them for the transition into further study and training, and/or employment.

We often have families contact us due to recommendations made by current families and appreciate this support as we continue to increase our student numbers, enabling us to expand our choices and opportunities for all students.

Senior Formal

A Carnival theme for our senior formal recently saw a myriad of vivid colours both in the decor of the room and the dress of students and staff. It was a great chance to relax and socialise together in a fun atmosphere. The dance floor was busy all night, there was plenty of food and refreshments, and from all reports people had a great time. Thanks to the SRC and all the staff involved in organising and supervising the evening. There are photos and a write-up in the Campus News section of this newsletter.

NAIDOC celebration

The University Campus celebrated NAIDOC this year in our first week back for Term 3 with a BBQ lunch and activities including indigenous sports/games and music performed by college musicians. Thanks to the team of staff led by Marina Cooper who organised the highly successful event, and to the students who helped prepare the indigenous catering, offered the acknowledgement of country, performed in the musical entertainment, and helped with the BBQ. Thanks also to Leslie Briggs for running the traditional indigenous games, and to Christine Johnson for guiding the students with the indigenous catering. As a College we also hold a major event for NAIDOC and this year was the turn of the LV FLO, a report on that event and others across the college is included in the College News section of this newsletter.
