VCE VM News

Our VM students are well into their semester 2 units. Learning Behaviour Update Report will be available next week. Students should use them to evaluate their performance and discuss any issues with their class teachers. It is also a good time to reflect on VET progress and discuss work requirements with VET teachers. The end of the year will come around quickly and there is less time to catch up with these courses.
Students are also reminded that they should be collating Work Placement time sheets and reports to use as they finalise their Work-Related Skills assessments.
Also, it is crucial to keep Work Placement paperwork up to date. We have a class scheduled on Fridays to support students needing to find a new work placement.
We also have catch up classes scheduled for Year 11s, Mondays, period 5 and for Year 12s, Tuesdays, period 5. Please remember to check Compass for notifications to attend and discuss catch-up requirements with teachers.
Also, after-school study class is available 3pm – 4.30 pm on Mondays and Thursdays. Hot chips and pizza provided to support learning efforts in the afternoon!
Attendance
A reminder that 90% or higher attendance is expected. Frequent attendance and participation in class is required for work completion and for teachers to authenticate outcomes.
Over the past term, our VCE VM students have participated in several valuable enrichment activities:
Formal
"The formal was such a lively and enjoyable event. Everyone arrived looking their best, and the atmosphere was fun and playful. It felt great to be surrounded by friends, with laughter, chatter, dancing, and singing along to classic songs we all knew. Those little moments throughout the night made it truly memorable and an amazing experience to attend." - Kady
Year 12 VM PARTY Excursion
(Prevent Alcohol and Risk-related Trauma in Youth)
Recently, Year 12 VM students attended the Prevent Alcohol and Risk-related Trauma in Youth (P.A.R.T.Y) program at Latrobe Regional Hospital. This interactive and highly engaging program exposed students to the real-life consequences of risk-taking behaviour in a hospital-simulated environment.
Students heard from doctors, nurses, emergency service workers, and trauma survivors, gaining a powerful insight into the impact of serious injuries on individuals, families, and the wider community. The experience encouraged students to make safer, prevention-focused choices and highlighted the importance of personal responsibility.
The day was both eye-opening and impactful, and we are confident it has left a lasting impression on our students.
Jobs Expo
Exploring Future Pathways at the Lardner Park Jobs Expo
We’ve recently attended the Lardner Park Jobs Expo, where students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of career options. Throughout the day, they spoke with representatives from various industries, gaining valuable insights into employment pathways, training opportunities, and the skills needed for different careers.
Students enjoyed the chance to ask questions, gather information about their areas of interest, and consider new possibilities for their future. It was a fantastic day of learning and inspiration, helping our students take important steps toward planning their post-school pathways.
