Sports

A busy start to Term 2 for Sports!

With our House Cross Country in the first week back from the Easter break and Secondary Athletics and Kowree Cross Country in the second week back, we’ve been kept busy with classes and extra-curricular activities. It doesn’t stop here though with the Little Desert Cross Country (Primary and Secondary), Senior Netball and Primary Winter Sports all coming up in the next few weeks.

House Cross Country

Thursday 24th April was the House Cross Country with Mullagh taking on Wallace. With points on offer for the places the higher up in age groups students finished, the races were hotly contested.

After the races were run and won, points were tallied with Mullagh coming out on top: 218 points to Wallace’s 171.

Kowree Cross Country

Our Grade 3-6 students travelled over to Balmoral for the Kowree Cross Country on Friday 2nd May.

Putting in practice in PE classes has definitely helped spur our kids on to running well, with Edenhope returning the champion school for the day with the highest average points per student for the day.

With the 9 and 10 year olds running 2km and the 11, 12 and 13 year olds running 3km, there were a few tired students at the end of the races!

Eliza Smith was the standout runner for Edenhope, winning the 11 year old girls race, with Baylen Domaschenz and Harry Kelly finishing 2nd in their age groups and Matthew Cridland a respectable 4th.

From the Kowree Cross Country, we have 7 primary students who have qualified for the Little Desert Cross Country in Nhill. These students are: Harry Kelly, Dusty Colgate, Hadley Domaschenz, Eliza Smith, Baylen Domaschenz, Matthew Cridland and Kya Fawell.

Best of luck to these students and also our secondary students moving on in the cross country.
