Principal's Message

Welcome to Week Seven of Term Three!

It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the term. The weeks are flying by, with plenty of learning, connection and exciting opportunities happening across Harvest Home Primary School, with a busy and eventful end of term to follow. 

Again, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our wonderful families for your continued support, and to our dedicated staff for the care and commitment they show our students every day. There is plenty to celebrate and look forward to, so please enjoy reading about what has been happening across our school community.

Busy, yet FUN times.

It has been a wonderful and engaging few weeks at Harvest Home, with so many opportunities for our students to learn, grow and celebrate. 

Our Year 6 students have demonstrated Kaizen through their secondary school transition visits and by challenging themselves with secondary school entrance exams, while also celebrating 100 Days of School. Many students have been enjoying their Swimming Program at King Swim, while ICAS assessments have provided opportunities to extend and support student learning. We have also celebrated success at District Athletics and enjoyed the creativity and excitement of Book Week. It has certainly been a busy and rewarding time across our school!

Planning for 2027

We have continued our 2027 planning with the hosting of many school tours throughout Term 1, 2 and into the current Term 3. The tours have been very successful with positive feedback from our potential and future parents. We would like to kindly remind our current families to submit enrolment forms for any children starting Prep in 2027 as soon as possible. Enrolment forms are available via the school office.  We are very excited to welcome our new Prep students and their families into our Harvest Home community. Details about the Prep Transition program will be shared with families in September.

With this, the leadership team are to continuing to work through 2027 planning, class structures and our recruitment process. In support of our preparation, we would appreciate families/carers in notifying the school if your child/ren will not be returning to our school in 2027, as soon as possible, by contacting the school office on 8468 9000 or completing the below form. 

Parent & Guardian Opinion Survey (PCGS)

This week via Compass, families will receive correspondence regarding the Department’s annual Parent/ Caregiver/ Guardian Opinion Survey (PCGS). 

The feedback collected through the PCGS is extremely valuable as it helps:

• measure parent satisfaction with our school programs and communication

• identify areas of strength, such as supportive teachers or wellbeing programs

• highlight areas for improvement, including where we can enhance student engagement and the learning experience

• inform whole-school planning for the following year.

The survey results are reviewed by school leadership and staff, and they directly shape future planning, initiatives, and resource allocation. Thank you in advance to our families for your time and contribution in helping our school continue to improve.

VSGA EBA Discussions:

I would like to acknowledge and thank our School Council and broader school community for their support, understanding and patience throughout the recent Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) negotiations. The AEU members have now agreed to the proposed EBA, with the next stages to follow: school staff process, Fair Work, etc. We particularly appreciate the understanding shown by families and the broader community on the various industrial action days throughout the negotiations.

Pride of Place - School Uniform 

A big thank you to our families and students for your support with our school uniform expectations. We appreciate everyone who has taken the time to attend to  uniform reminders, make any necessary adjustments and ensure our students are coming to school ready to learn. It has been wonderful to see our students wearing their Harvest Home uniform with pride and representing our school community so positively.
