Swimming Program

Today was the last day of swimming lessons. Well done to all our students who participated with enthusiasm and good cheer. The hot chips treat today were delicious and enjoyed enormously by everyone who tried them.

Our fun swimming carnival will be held at HILAC on Monday 18th December.  Further information on this, will be provided soon.

Readers Cup

Last Monday our Readers Cup team presented their comic style 'Titanic' film to the other school teams at Branxholme PS. Of course we think ours was the best presentation of them all! The book quiz was our downfall as it became apparent just who had read the books and who had not.

Congratulations to the winning team from Dunkeld.

Amy - Literacy Training

Mrs Bell was teaching F/1 yesterday while Miss Gray attended a Wimmera South West Literacy Learning Community forum on Thursday. Cavendish has formed a team with Dunkeld PS to share and promote literacy resources and targets in 2024. We look forward to utilising these resources next year.

Visit from Baimbridge College

Samantha Adams and Paul Churchill teachers from Baimbridge College paid a visit to Cavendish PS today. They met with Darcy and Tilly to discuss their transition to Year 7 in 2024. Not long now until all our Year 6 students graduate and nerves and excitement levels are increasing.

Presentation Night

Our end of year Presentation Night is on Thursday 14th December at the Cavendish SM Hall. Starting at 6:30pm all school families and friends are invited. There will be musical performances, presentation of awards, speeches, farewells and memories. Keep the date free! Cavendish students are expected to wear full summer uniform for this occasion.

We may even invite a special festive visitor! More details next week.

Student Leaders 2024

The student leadership positions for 2024 have been released today. Interested Year 4/5 students can nominate themselves for their desired roles. We encourage each nominated child to prepare a speech outlining what skills and qualities they will bring to the role.

Speeches will be given at morning assembly on Monday 11 December. Parents of nominees are invited to join us for this assembly

Voting for contested positions will be on Tuesday 12th December. 2024 leaders will be announced at the Presentation Night.

Cookbook - photo of students

Carly and Merryn have been busy finalising the new cookbook for school.  Carly would like to come and take photos of the children working in the Environment Centre to be included in the book.  If any parents would not like their child photographed for the book, please let the school know as soon as possible.

No lunch orders from Bridge Cafe

Reminder that there will be no Bridge Cafe lunch orders on Friday 8th December as we will be in Mount Gambier on our 'Flip Out' excursion.

Thank you

A big thank you to Nutrien Ag Solutions in Hamilton for donating the strainer posts for our Year 6's for this year and next year.  The students have been busy sanding them down in readiness for painting.

Have a great weekend
