Barrawarn Magpie sculptures

In Art this term we are learning from First Nations artists and writers, and making works in response in different mediums.  Preps listened to the story Mad Magpie by Gregg Dreise and then created their own small Barrawarn (Magpie) sculptures from paperclay, adding surface decoration with paint pens. We have learnt the Woiwurrung word Barrawarn meaning Magpie. We also used photos of Magpies to look at the feather patterns and told stories about our experiences with Magpies too!
