School Council

Dear Fellow Parents,
Earlier this year, students in grades 4-6 completed the annual Attitudes to School Survey which is like an opinion survey for students completed at every government school across the state. At our last council meeting, the results from this survey were shared, and the results were fantastic!
The results showed that on every single measure, of which there are 19, our school was equal to or surpassed schools similar to ours, schools in our network, and the state average.
This is truly a remarkable achievement and a true testament to the strong partnership between school and home. A huge congratulations and thank you to the staff for making our students feel so connected, valued, listened to.
Of particular note are the safety components. Students tell us our staff cares for them, they have staff they can talk to, and staff that will listen. They tell us that they acknowledge and appreciate the diversity within our community and that when incidents occur, the school addresses that promptly and effectively.
Academically, our students inform us that the work is stimulating, geared to the their individual needs and that they are motivated and interested to learn. Finally, this survey shows us that the students feel their teacher has high expectations of them, want them to succeed, and appreciate the effort the staff put in each and every day.
Once again, and as a parent of children at this school myself, congratulations and thank you to all.
Kind Regards,
Vince Scarfo
