Remembering John Beaverstock
On Monday, we shared the sad news with our community of the passing of Mr John Beaverstock.
John was a cherished member of the All Saints’ College community for more than 31 years and touched the lives of generations of students, families and colleagues through his warmth, generosity and genuine care for others. He formed lifelong friendships across our community and leaves behind a legacy of connection, kindness and service.
We continue to hold John's family and loved ones in our thoughts at this difficult time.
A Celebration of Creativity: Arts Day
Last Tuesday, our campus came alive with colour, music, and imagination as we celebrated our annual Arts Day. From the moment the first notes rang out, the energy was palpable. The Common was transformed into a vibrant creative space where students explored, expressed, and inspired one another through a wonderful variety of activities.
The day built beautifully toward its grand finale: our House Choir competition, which was entirely led by the students themselves. The colour, movement, and style on display were simply outstanding, and the collaboration between the students in each house was a joy to witness. The event culminated in a mass karaoke sing-off that had the entire Senior School on its feet — so much fun, and a wonderful reminder of the joy that comes from creating and performing together.
Events like Arts Day speak to something essential in education. The arts are not simply an add-on to a broad curriculum; they are fundamental to how we understand ourselves, relate to others, and interpret the world. In a society increasingly shaped by technology and data, creativity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to see through another's eyes remain irreplaceable. The Arts develop resilience, empathy, and innovative thinking — qualities we want every All Saints’ student to carry into the world. Our commitment to a broad, balanced education is grounded in the belief that young people flourish when given the opportunity to explore the full breadth of human expression.
Introducing Our 2027 College Captains
I am delighted to announce the appointment of our College Captains for 2027: Asher Muller and Grace Shackleton. The selection process was both thorough and rigorous, and the calibre of all applicants was exceptionally high.
Asher and Grace are joined by a team of senior students who have been selected to lead their House and additional portfolios. I am confident that our student leaders will work constructively together, represent the entire student cohort with integrity, and introduce initiatives that continue to make All Saints’ College an even better place for everyone.
We look forward to supporting our student leaders throughout the year ahead and to seeing the positive impact of their leadership across the College.
Our Thoughts Are With Nepal
Finally, I know I speak for the entire All Saints’ community in expressing our deepest sympathy and prayers for the people of Nepal and Tibet following the devastating flash floods that have caused such terrible loss and destruction.

Loving God,
We pray for all those affected by the devastating flash floods in Nepal and Tibet. We pray for those who are grieving, and for those who are still waiting for news of their missing loved ones. We pray for the emergency workers in the region, for those who are injured, and for the doctors and nurses working tirelessly to bring healing and rebuild lives.
Please provide for the survivors, protect the rescue and recovery workers and comfort and strengthen all.
We place into your hands all those who watch, wait and weep.

May we hold those affected in our thoughts and, where we can, respond with compassion and support.
