Compass: New School Communication Platform
We are introducing Compass as our new whole-school platform for communication and key school processes.
Compass will become our main way to share information with families and will replace Audiri for school communication.
What parents need to know
From Monday 9th February at 4:00pm, all SMCM families will receive an email from Compass containing:
- A family username
- A temporary password
When logging in for the first time, you will be asked to:
- Confirm your email address and mobile number
- Change your password
Please make sure you can see our school logo, as there are other St Mary of the Cross MacKillop schools in the state.
How Compass will be used (initially)
At this stage, Compass will be used for:
- Student attendance (including recording absences)
- School communication
More features will be introduced later in the year (see roadmap below).
What about other platforms?
- Audiri will no longer be used for school communication
- Seesaw will continue to be used to share student learning

Support for families
We understand that starting a new platform can take some time. Staff will be available before and after school next week to support families with logging in or any setup issues. Compass also provides step-by-step parent guides within the platform.

Sports uniform - no change over period
It has been wonderful to see so many of our students in our new sport uniform this week, however, there is no change over period for this uniform. Students are allowed to still wear the older style uniform and they can wear both the older and newer style together. Hats are compulsory for term 1 and 4. We sell them at reception for $20 each if your child requires one.
Traffic Safety Around Our School
As our school community continues to grow, traffic safety remains a shared responsibility. We ask all families to follow road rules at all times when dropping off and collecting children. Patience and consideration are essential during these busy times.
No Parking Zones – Farmhouse Boulevard & Redding Rise: These areas are strictly drop-off and pick-up zones only. Cars must not be parked, and drivers should remain in their vehicles. Children should not be called to cars stopped in the middle of the road.
Staff Car Park: Please do not enter the staff car park during drop-off and pick-up times. Due to increased staff numbers, parking capacity is limited. Families requiring disabled parking may enter the car park only if exiting the vehicle to enter the school. Additional traffic movement in this area creates safety and congestion concerns.
Pedestrian Crossings: Please use designated pedestrian crossings at all times. Crossing between parked cars and moving traffic places children at significant risk.
We also ask families to be considerate of our neighbours by ensuring driveways are not blocked or parked over at any time.
Student Supervision After School
Staff provide yard duty supervision until 3:40pm each afternoon. All students should be collected by this time or be enrolled in Out of School Hours Care.
During this period, staff supervise students for pedestrian and traffic safety. Students using playground equipment after school must be actively supervised by a parent or caregiver.
