Community and Family Engagement

Welcome to Term 1, 2026!
A very big welcome back to our SMCM Community for the 2026 school year.
Last week it was fantastic to see all of our students and their families back for another big year and of course to welcome many new families as well, not just in Prep, but in all levels across the school.
There are going to be so many exciting events happening this year and even this term! We can't wait to celebrate them all with you.
The success of events at our school are sometimes dependent on our parent community volunteering their time to support the running of the events. If you can donate your time throughout the year, even just for 1 hour, it would be really appreciated. With over 300 families enrolled in our school, it should be easy to fill volunteer roles, however we have found over the last few years the same few families volunteering over again.
The children take great pride in having their family members support the running of events AND they love to receive raffle tickets for it! If parents are unable to assist due to work commitments or younger siblings, we love to have grandparents as well!
Looking forward to celebrating many special events with you all this year.
School Crossing Safety Awareness Day
Tomorrow is School Crossing Safety Awareness Day.
Many of the school crossing staff will be wearing ribbons to promote safety around our school.
Please make sure you promote your children using the crossings safely and model this to them as well. We are lucky to have very dedicated and capable crossing supervisors here at SMCM!
