Principal's Report

As we enter the season of Lent, our school takes time to reflect on kindness, compassion, and growing together in faith. This prayer invites our students, families, and staff to pause for a moment of peace and to begin this season with open hearts.

Dear Jesus,
As we begin this season of Lent,
help us open our hearts to kindness, patience, and generosity.
Teach us to notice those who need a smile, a friend, or a helping hand.
Guide us to make good choices,
to care for one another, and to grow in love each day.
Bless our families, our teachers, and our school,
and help us walk this Lenten journey with hope and joy.
Amen.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Meet and Greet sessions last week. It was wonderful to see so many families connecting with teachers. We also appreciate your generous support of our Book Fair, it brought great energy to the school and replenished our classroom libraries.
Today we marked Ash Wednesday with a beautiful liturgy led by Father Phil. The beginning of Lent invites us into a time of renewal, reflection and forgiveness, and it was lovely to gather as a community to begin this season together.
Our Open Days are coming up soon, and we look forward to welcoming new families into our school. A special thank you to the parents who have kindly agreed to help us by personally handing out Open Day information in the community. We really appreciate your willingness to take a more personal approach, it makes a genuine difference.
Word of mouth continues to be one of the strongest ways people hear about St Margaret Mary’s. We are proud to be a school where every child is known and valued, where we strive for academic excellence, and where CARE sits at the heart of everything we do.
Over the coming weeks, we are also visiting several of our feeder preschools to deliver a STEM lesson. These visits have been very well received and are a great way to introduce children to the excitement of learning at St Margaret Mary’s.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
Warm Regards,
Kylie O'Donnell
