Principal's News

Erin Macdonald, principal@olgcdeepdene.catholic.edu.au

Immaculate Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus and my mother, I come to you with confidence in your powerful intercession, manifested through your Miraculous Medal. As your loving, trustful child I ask this favor... Obtain for me as well, a pure heart, that my entire life may give glory to God.

Amen

Dear Parents and Students,

Another busy week with our routine literacy and numeracy learning, incursions from the Melbourne Vixen Netball players and excursions to the Kew Traffic School,  Mother's Day Breakfast and Walk Safely to Schools day. This Sunday we have a Eucharist Commitment Mass at 5pm and on Monday 20th approximately 50 of our Yr 3 - 6 students will be participating in the District Cross Country.  We wish them all every success.

EUCHARIST COMMITMENT MASS -SUNDAY 19 MAY AT 5PM

All students making the Sacrament of Eucharist on either 4th or 11th August are asked to attend a Commitment Mass in the church this Sunday 19 May at 5pm.  We look forward to seeing you there.

2024 PRIMARY SCHOOL LEADERS' FORUM

Our School Captains, Christina and Arden have received a very special invitation from our local member Jess Wilson MP (Member for Kew) to attend the 2024 Primary School Leaders' Forum on Tuesday 4 June at the Legislative Council Chamber, Parliament of Victoria, Melbourne. This will be a very exciting day for the girls and we hope they have a wonderful time.

CROSSING SUPERVISORS

More and more often we are receiving emails from Boroondara Council that there is no-one available to supervise the Campbell Rd crossings in the mornings and afternoons.

I would like to put together a list of parents that we can call upon, when Boroondara can not supply a crossing supervisor.  If you are available to help out occasionally, please email Megan - office@olgcdeepdene.catholic.edu.au

Morning crossing times - 8:30am - 9am

Afternoon cross times - 3:20 - 3:45pm

YR 1/2 EXCURSION

Last Friday our Yr 1/2 students walked up to the Kew Traffic School for a road safety excursion. They had a session indoors learning about road safety and road rules, then practiced this new knowledge riding bikes and scooters around the traffic school.

A great time was had by all.

MOTHER'S DAY BREAKFAST

We hope that all Mother's had a wonderful day last Sunday and were totally spoilt.

Our annual Mother's Day Breakfast was very well attended and I hope you all had a lovely morning. A huge thank you to Megan McPherson for organising, setting up and coordinating this beautiful morning.  Thank you also to our mum's the organised and ran the Mother's Stall.
