Student Achievements

Congratulations to the following students:

Sophie Johns (Year 7), who had a busy and exciting long weekend serving as a co-Ambassador for the 2026 Royal Hobart Show. Sophie got to experience the show from all angles – testing out rides and showbags, meeting the entertainers and even stepping in front of news cameras. She also helped judge the popular pet parade and led the Governor (pictured below) on an official site tour. What a brilliant experience!

Sophie was featured in The Mercury newspaper on Thursday 22 October and shared:

"It's really cool to see everyone come and just learn about agriculture and have a good time."

Congratulations, Sophie, on representing our SMC community so wonderfully!

Alexandria Champion (Year 6), Essie Kline (Year 6), Maddie Pritchard (Year 5) and Rennie Woolnough (Year 6), who competed at the 2026 Hockey Australia Under 12 Carnival at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre in Hobart. The week was filled with fantastic competition, skill building and plenty of fun both on and off the turf. Well done, girls!
