Student Wellbeing

Reconciliation Week

At its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians. During Wellbeing classes, the students learnt about the story of John Kickett, a Quairading man who fought for his children's education in the early 1900s.

The Year 12 students had a visit this week from Jenny Blewer from Apprentice Support Australia who spoke about the support that is available to students once they start an apprenticeship or traineeship. She also discussed how to apply as well as letting us know which companies are currently looking for their 2027 staff.  We are looking forward to continuing this relationship with Jenny for the rest of the year as we get our Year 12 students ready for the workforce.
