Semester One Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews

Semester One student reports will be published in this Friday 26th June via COMPASS.

Parents, this is a special time for you to praise the efforts of your child for the school year. The level of effort a child puts into their work is important to acknowledge in addition to the level of performance grade awarded. Praise this where appropriate.

Parent teacher interviews to discuss your child’s Semester One report during Week 11 are now open via COMPASS portal - Community- Conferences.

The Parent/Teacher interviews are 10 minutes in duration.

Students from Years 3 to 6 are invited to attend the interview to discuss their progress and  achievement of Semester One goals.

Amadeus Music Program – Understanding Your Child’s Progress Report

The Amadeus Program reports on three key areas of musical development:

1. Instrument Skills

How well students play correct notes and use proper technique, including posture, fingering/bowing, breath control and sound quality.

2. Tempo & Rhythm

A student’s ability to keep a steady beat, play accurate rhythms and follow the time signature.

3. Musical Expression

Use of dynamics (loud/soft), phrasing, articulation and expressive detail to bring music to life.

Achievement Levels

  • Extensive Achievement — Well above expectations; confident, accurate playing with strong technique and musicality.

  • Thorough Achievement — Above standard; mostly accurate notes and rhythms with developing expression.

  • Sound Achievement — Meeting expectations; recognisable performance with some errors and developing technique.

  • Basic Achievement — Early skill development; needs support with notes, rhythms and technique.

  • Elementary Achievement — Skills not yet demonstrated, often due to limited participation, absences or incomplete performance attempts.
