News from our Principal

Mrs Sue Clay| Principal

Dear Parents,

As you read this newsletter you may have already read today’s communication regarding my leave in Term 3. I will be taking all of Term 3 off to spend some quality time with my growing family (7 grandchildren now!) I will miss the many exciting learning and extracurricular events that are planned and look forward to returning in Term 4 to hear all about them and wrap up the year. Mr Peter Buxton, who will be K-12 Acting Principal across De La Salle and Our Lady of Fatima, is really looking forward to the experience again and engaging with our community throughout Term 3.

I am sure you are looking forward to meeting with your child/ren’s teachers next week to discuss and celebrate their half yearly progress and growth in their learning. These meetings give you a chance to discuss ‘future directions’ for their Semester Two learning. I acknowledge and thank the teachers for their professionalism, thoroughness and commitment to their vocation in providing such a comprehensive analysis of your child’s learning across all Curriculum areas.

Next week there will be a student “Talent Quest” that the students have enjoyed auditioning for.  It will be a fun way to finish off the term and showcase some talent we may not be aware of from some of our students! Thank you to the teachers who have been giving up their lunch time break to audition the students and prepare for this event.

Congratulations to our newly confirmed Year 6 students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last Sunday. It is a special time in their lives and Bishop Jarrad challenged them all “to go forward as they are called to be disciples in the world”. It was beautiful seeing all the families celebrate this special time in their children’s lives. The students were well prepared by our priests, the Parish team, their teachers and parents. It was an extremely reverent and respectful experience for all those involved.

Dear Lord,

Help us to always listen and believe in Jesus, ‘ the voice of truth’.

May we always be guided by your Holy Spirit.

May we use the gifts we receive in Confirmation to continue to walk your path and forever be the face of Christ to whoever we meet.

We open our hearts and lives to you, Holy Spirit: breathe a breath of new life into us all!  Amen

It has been a busy term and now it is time to rest, renew and refuel! I wish every family a happy and restful holiday. We are blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world with so many great things to do right on our doorstep. I hope that you are to take advantage of that and enjoy your family time.
