Guitar Summit – This Thursday

Our guitar students are looking forward to an inspiring and immersive day at this Thursday’s Guitar Summit. This special event offers a valuable opportunity for students to deepen their ensemble skills while learning from outstanding mentors in a collaborative musical environment.

Throughout the afternoon, students will take part in engaging workshops and sectionals, working closely with experienced musicians to refine their technique and ensemble performance. The day will culminate in an evening concert showcasing Guitar Orchestra 1, Guitar Orchestra 2, and Guitar Ensemble.

Winds and Percussion Concert Wrap-Up

A warm and lively crowd enjoyed last Thursday evening’s wind and percussion concert which was an impressive showcase of our students’ developing musicianship across woodwind, brass and percussion.

Our percussion ensembles opened the night with confident, high‑energy pieces including the instantly recognisable Mission Impossible theme, setting a strong pace for the program. The Wind Ensemble followed with its debut performance in the Draney Theatre, earning enthusiastic applause and marking a promising start for the new group. A standout moment came from Julien Lewis (Year 11), whose expressive flugel horn solo with Wind Orchestra 1 was a clear audience favourite.

Thank you to Zac Moynihan, Dominic Machen, Jamie Kennedy and Samantha Blakeney for their expert leadership of our wind and percussion ensembles.
