The CHPSVolunteer Service Club

This Term, the newly formed CHPS Volunteer Service Club have been researching local organisations and how they give back to our community. One organisation that they have decided they would like to help is ‘Big Group Hug.’ Their mission is to mobilise community support to respond to the immediate needs of young people, particularly vulnerable children and their families, by taking pre-loved goods to give them a second life with a disadvantaged family.

To support the work of this wonderful organisation, the Volunteer Service Club have organised a Toy Drive to run until the end of this term. Toys can be collected in each classroom, or at the front office/staff room and will be collected in the final week of term.

For the toys donated to us, we ask please that items are nearly new or in very good condition, and:

  • Games must be complete.
  • Please ensure toys are functional, cleaned and with parts packed together.
  • Items should be no larger than a supermarket bag.
  • Soft / stuffed toys – Toys should be new/near new, less than 30cm in size and (if preloved) washed prior to donating.
  • Imaginary play – dolls, cars, trains, tool sets, action & character figures, dress-ups, pretend food etc. – no battery operated toys.
  • Educational– craft & construction kits, puzzles, board games, electronics, musical instruments etc.
