Hobsons Bay Division Cross-Country

On Tuesday the 28th of May, 8 students Sofia, Claudia, Ariana, Heidi, Tanish, Utkarsh, Ashton and Kara hopped on the bus to compete in the Hobsons Bay Division Cross Country Event. We travelled to Presidents Park Wyndham Vale and the weather was perfect for the students who were preparing to run the 2k or 3k event.

Everyone ran their best, with Sofia in the first race of the day finishing 4th with a time of just over 9 minutes. She will now progress and compete in the Western Regional event next month. The races kept progressing through the age groups until everyone had raced. The team did a fantastic job and made us all proud. Well done everyone for giving cross country a go this year.

Kara and Ariana Experience

on Cross Country

District Cross country was exciting; it was our first official race. It was so nerve-racking at the start waiting for the race starter to shout go. Everything was muffled. All we heard was the sound of our heart beating louder and louder until the words GO! were shouted. The race was tiring, we were short of breath and struggling to go on but we persevered and successfully made it through to divisionals.

We had so much fun at divisionals! Even though we didn't make it to regionals, we still enjoyed the experience and made so many great memories. Making it this far was an accomplishment in itself and we congratulate all the other students who participated in cross country. We appreciate the opportunity that we earned and we would like to thank Nick and the other staff that supported us along our journey.
