Year 3 sound of the week is the multiple spellings for long vowel E.
Year 4 sound of the week is the prefix ‘sub-’

Reader’s and Writer’s workshop: We have continued exploring animal classifications through our Unit of Inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves. In Reader’s and Writer’s workshop we are researching specific animals, and practicing our note taking skills. We will then turn our notes into paragraphs.
Mathematics: We continue to explore fractions as part of a whole, using concrete materials and real life experiences to consolidate understanding.
Unit of Inquiry: In our Unit of Inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves, students are learning about classification and how people organise information, objects, and living things into groups based on shared characteristics. This week, we begin to explore properties of soil, sedimentation and how soil effects plant growth.
