Subway Lunch Orders
PLEASE NOTE -
Subway Orders to be in Thursday and close on CDFpay at 2.45pm, late orders can be dropped directly to Subway Mooroopna prior to close of business Thursday. Lunch Orders will be delivered Fridays.
REMINDERS - Winter School Uniform
Winter uniform should now be being worn during Term 3. Changes to this is at the principal's discretion.
Winter Uniform -
- All students - Grey long pants/shorts/Skort, School polo top (short or long sleeve) and school navy blue windcheater, grey socks with long pants OR white socks for girls in skort.
- Sports uniform is to be worn for students PE day and all students are required to wear school polo shirt & windcheater as required, plain black basketball shorts or track pants - no logos permitted and no bike shorts or leggings, these are not school uniform.
PLEASE NOTE
- Bike shorts/leggings are not school uniform.
- Students uniform items should not have any branding or logos other than school print.
- Shorts are to be visible and longer than T-Shirt and or Jumper.
- Jewellery - sleepers or studs 1 per ear, extra earrings are to be clear, 1 necklace with religious or cultural symbol, nose piercing is not to be noticeable (eg clear stud) or should be covered, no bangles or bracelets.
- Hair ties to be black or Navy Blue.

Reminder - Book Week Dress Up Day
2026 Book week is celebrated during week of 22nd - 28th August, however due to grades 3/4 camp, St Mary's will celebrate with a Dress Up Day on Friday August 14th, and a whole school Parade in the Marian Centre from 9.15am.

New - Celebrating 100 Days of Prep
Today we celebrated a very special milestone — 100 days of learning, growing and shining in Prep!
Our Prep students have achieved so much in their first 100 days at St. Mary’s. From making new friends and learning classroom routines to developing their reading, writing and maths skills, it has been wonderful to watch their confidence and independence grow each day.
A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, Georgia and Caitlin, for all of their efforts in making this celebration so special for our Prep students. Your care, creativity and support helped create a day filled with fun, excitement and memorable experiences for our youngest learners.
Congratulations to our amazing Prep students on reaching 100 days of school — we are so proud of all that you have accomplished and can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
New - Science with Preps
This term our preps are learning about heating things up in our science and how we need living things to survive!
Last week our preps learnt all about Bees! Where does honey come from, how bees make their honey, and how bee keepers collect it!
This week, our preps were able to plant their very own vegetables which we will watch grow over the term!
New - Every Piece Tells a Story
As part of our 90th anniversary celebrations, students have created a special whole-school puzzle display celebrating our theme: Honouring Our Past, Inspiring Our Present and Building Our Future.
Each personalised puzzle piece represents the unique gifts, talents and connections that make our St. Mary’s community so special. The completed display is a beautiful reminder that every student is an important part of our story.
As we celebrate 90 years of faith, learning and community, we celebrate the generations who have shaped St. Mary’s and the students who continue to build our future.

New - Celebrating NAPLAN Results
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our Grade 3 and Grade 5 students and teachers in this year's NAPLAN assessments.
Across the learning domains of Reading, Writing, Grammar and Punctuation, Spelling, and Numeracy, our students have achieved exceptional results. In 9 out of 10 domains, the average achievement of our students has been placed within the 'Strong' proficiency level—a wonderful accomplishment and a significant improvement on previous years.
These results reflect the dedication, hard work and perseverance of our students, the expertise and commitment of our teachers and support staff, and the strong partnership we share with our families in supporting learning every day.
At St Mary's, we are committed to helping every child grow, achieve their personal best and let their light shine. These results are something our whole school community can celebrate!

New - Grandparents Day
We were delighted to welcome our wonderful grandparents and special friends to St Mary's for our annual Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day Celebration recently.
Our students proudly showcased their talents through song, dance and performance, bringing smiles to the faces of everyone in attendance. It was a joy to see generations coming together to celebrate the special relationships that enrich the lives of our children.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our grandparents and special guests for joining us. Your love, wisdom and encouragement play such an important role in shaping our students, and we are grateful for the partnership we share with our families.
Congratulations to our amazing students for their fantastic performances and thank you to our dedicated staff and Learning Support Officers for the time, care and effort that went into making today such a memorable occasion.

New - SEDA Workshops
Last week the SEDA students visited St Mary’s to run 5 Sport Workshops: T-Ball, Football, Netball, Soccer and Basketball.

New - Indigenous STEM Education Program
The 5/6 classes welcomed visitors from Melbourne Uni today who conducted MISEP (Melbourne Indigenous STEM Education Program) workshops with us.
We learnt all about Country, explored Country, discussed how we can care for country and learnt about the Kulin Nation seasons and how these differ from the four Gregorian seasons (summer, autumn, winter and spring).
We finished the session with a yarning circle, where students shared their learnings and what they enjoyed!
Foodshare
St Mary's School has become an agent for Foodshare. We are able to assist with some food items for families in the Mooroopna area. Each week we will have a variety of items including food supplies, groceries, fruits and vegetables. If you need support or would like to collect a bag of suppli please reach out to Meg Brown, Nerissa Russell or Ros Kempinski via the school office - 5825285.
