Boarders' Buzz

What a massive two weeks it has been in the Boarding House !
Last week we celebrated National Boarding Week and what a week of celebrations it was!
We started the week off on the Sunday morning with all our boarders participating in the Mother’s Day Classic! We enjoyed the 4km walk from the Telegraph Station along the path towards St Philip’s and then returning to the Telegraph Station.
A couple of boarders enjoyed it so much they broke out into a jog! It was also a great opportunity to raise some money for Breast and Ovarian Cancer research.
A massive shout-out to all the staff that chipped in and sponsored a boarder for the event!
On the Monday evening, we did a brilliant session on recognising all the incredible values and characteristics that make up each individual boarder and then posted these all around our rec room to remind our boarders just how much they are valued by their peers and staff! We finished the night with pizzas for supper!
Tuesday night was our boarding quiz night which was a night full of fun and laughter as the boarders took on the staff team to see who the master of the quiz was! The boarders took out the challenge by a technicality over the staff team and now have bragging rights until next year!
On Wednesday we had our ‘Tribe Night’. This night was an intense affair with Wilson Tribe desperate to regain ten points and draw level with Stevenson Tribe after the defeat last time in Indoor Soccer.
The competition was Danish Cricket and it was all tied up going into the final innings with Stevenson Tribe requiring 5 runs with only one out left. They managed to score the runs with Lachlan Blue kicking a long deep ball which got all his teammates home to win for Stevenson Tribe! Stevenson Tribe are now leading on 65 points to Wilson Tribe’s 45.
Jamaya Hingston was named our Boarder of the Fortnight, with Nellie Oliver and Ronniesha Tanami taking out the Academic of the Fortnight award!
Bradley Murichi and Ronniesha Tanami also won the Cleanest Rooms for McKechnie House and Heaslip House respectively.
We also celebrated William Rubuntja’s 14th birthday!
