Alumni Visit
On Monday the 16th of June, the year 11 and 12 VM & VPC cohort at Banksia campus were lucky enough to have 2017 graduate and past student (alumni) of Acacia, Dale Pryor come in to talk about his career in carpentry and what the VCAL (now VCE-VM) program did for him.
Dale openly talked about his schooling days, and the struggles he faced day-to-day. Although he didn’t struggle academically, he always knew that he wanted to be a carpenter, which ultimately led him to choosing VM instead of VCE.
During school, Dale completed a Certificate II in Building and Construction (a pre-apprenticeship course). After graduating, he got himself an apprenticeship and carried out his Certificate III in Carpentry. Today, Dale runs his own business and is currently studying a Diploma in Building and Construction to become a registered builder.
We all greatly appreciate Dale taking the time out of his busy schedule to come down and give the students a glimpse into what their future could hold.
