Open Morning concert

We are so proud of the Start Up Strings who gave their first ever performance with their instruments at the Open Morning Concert on Wednesday. With their “copy cats”, they demonstrated how they can listen, think and respond in the moment. Their prepared pieces, “At the ballet”, “Puppy”, “Hot Cross Buns” and “Hoe-down” were played with great togetherness. The audience joyfully participated in singing along and in some fun inner hearing activities. The performance couldn’t have gone better! Well done Start Up Strings!

Then the Orchestra gave an excellent performance of their two pieces, “Kabuki Dance” and “Ludwig’s Dance Party”.  Year 6 students, Kane and Miara, gave interesting introductions well spoken. The two different moods within “Kabuki Dance” were successfully captured showed the control of different speeds the Orchestra has developed. “Ludwig’s Dance Party” was popular with the audience bopping along. Thanks Ella for adding the drum part to help with that. Well done Orchestra!

Choir off to a good start

The Yr3-6 choir that will perform at the Night of Music concert on 5th September had its first rehearsal last Friday. There was an excited buzz in the air as 51 choristers banded together to joyfully sing!

We are lucky to have Jennette Green returning to IPS to take the choir and Mr O’Brien to assist.

See you all tomorrow for rehearsal number 2.

Solo Soirees

All students who play in Corelli Strings or Orchestra are invited to perform a solo at one of the Solo Soirees coming up in June:

  • Monday 1st June 6:30pm
  • Tuesday 2nd June 6:00pm
  • Thursday 4th June 6:30pm

Encouraging your child to practise performing their piece at home will help them have a confident performance.
