Polding Swimming
Well done to Archie Eades, Lulu Eades, Henry Crump, Franklin Boucher and Thomas Dowling who competed in Sydney at the Polding Swimming trials at the end of Term 2. All students swam well but more importantly showed great sportsmanship and represented Catherine McAuley respectfully, responsibly and safely.
Diocesan Rugby Trials
For those students in Year 5 or 6 (must be turning 11 or 12 this year) we will be having two trials to select students for the Bathurst Dio Trials. Students will be informed at morning and afternoon assemblies when these will take place. If your child is wishing to trial please make sure they bring a mouth guard to school.
Coolah Cross Country
We have a number of students venturing off to Coolah on the 5th May to run in Cross Country. We wish them the very best in this endeavor. Mrs Dellow will be the teacher in charge on the day.
Rugby League
In Week 2 we have two rugby league days. The first was for our Year 3-6 students and took place on the 28th April at Brendon Sturgeon oval in Orange. A fantastic day was had by all with some wonderful rugby league being played.
The second for our girls team (Year 5 -6) which is on Thursday the 30 April in Bathurst. Mr Bishenden will be the attending teacher and coach on the day.
Athletics
Due to the huge participation rate at our carnival last term, not all events were finalised. These events will take place throughout the term. Students will be told at Morning and Afternoon assemblies when this will happen. Please remind your child to listen carefully to all announcements at these assemblies.
Polding Trials
On Friday we have a number of students at Bathurst at Polding Trials. In Girls league we
have Loti Brodrick, Layla Gardiner, Xanthe Bryant and Annabelle Groves (future Tiger players).

Western Region 7's Champions
On Thursday of week 1 we had our 7's Open Rugby Union team travel to Emus to compete in the Western Region Finals. An event which they had to qualify for earlier on in the year.
The first game was against Holy Family Bathurst which the boys won 20 to Nil. The second game was against Orana Heights from Dubbo and this was a scrappy game however the boys came away with a slim victory. This qualified them for the Semi-Finals whare they played Canowindra. In a tough encounter Catherine McAuley won 30-6.
Now was the showdown between the favourites and defending champions Saint Matthews Mudgee. After a tense 14 minutes both teams couldn't be separated so golden try was announced. In a seesawing 2 minutes, McAuley were lucky enough to score in the corner and be once again Crowned Western Region Champions for 2026. The boys now head off to Sydney on the 22nd May to attempt to be crowned State Champions.
The team consists of:
Harry (hard hitter) Vial, Oscar (outstanding)Johnson, Barnaby (boom boom) Luelf, Tom (take them down at the breakdown) Dellow, Harry (heavy hitter) Logan, Oscar (out of this world) Nunn, Alfie (the ace) Griffiths, Alby (the allrounder) McRae, Olly (Outstanding defender) Piper and Kendric (the Cannonball) Tomas.
We wish these boys well.
