🌿 Welcome Back to Term 2

 

This term, we are focusing on an important area of student health and wellbeing — healthy eating. A balanced diet plays a key role in supporting children’s physical growth, strengthening immunity, enhancing concentration and learning, and providing the sustained energy needed for a busy school day.


🥪 Supporting Healthy Choices at School

At McAuley, we are excited to be promoting the “Swap It” program to support families in making simple, healthier choices when preparing lunchboxes.


🍎 What is “Swap It”?

“Swap It” is a free initiative designed to help parents, carers, and students make healthier food choices for school.

Did you know that a school lunchbox provides around one-third of a child’s daily energy intake? This makes it especially important to include nourishing foods that support both learning and overall wellbeing.

Over Term 2, we will be sharing weekly helpful information, tips, and ideas to support you in preparing healthy and balanced lunchboxes at home.

 


Together, we can help our students build lifelong healthy habits that support their wellbeing and success at school.
