Prep Rose and Ayla

Today was 100 days of Prep. In class we made 100 days of prep hats. We had to dress up in bright and colorful outfits. We have a jar with squishy balls in it and we put one in for every day until 100 days of prep.

On 100 days of prep we stuck paper on balloons to make them colorful and we made cereal necklaces. I wore a bright pink dress and a blue jacket. Today is the best day of school so far.

3/4S Lanndo And Rosie  Maths3/4L Fred and Poppy Grandparents Day

Rosie:

For the past couple of weeks in class we have been learning different ways on how to do  multiplication and division. For multiplication we have been using base ten blocks which makes it a lot easier to understand. To do our division we have been using bar models and base ten blocks. I think for me using base ten blocks and bar models help me understand maths a lot easier than how it did before. This is a great way to learn maths and if we keep using this method we will know much more and become pros!

Rosie

Yesterday it was grandparents day and we had church with them. Also there was morning tea for the grandparents and we did a special event where we had to draw people and write on a heart. We also had a photo with them and had everyone had good time.

Fred

In division we have been learning about doing it with a bar model and base 10 blocks. There both good ways to work it out the division answers. It makes it way easier to answer the question. It is a great way to answer a question.

On Grandparents Day my Grandma came and we went into church. Then we went to our classroom to do some art with our grandparents. We got some cut up people and we coloured them and stuck a love heart on it, it was really fun!!! Then you could go into the hall with our grandparents for morning tea. There was cake, cookies, tea and coffee. It was an amazing and fun day with our grandparents.

The 5/6s went to the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre. We saw so many artifacts from Mary MacKillop’s life. There was even a chance to buy some stuff from the gift shop. My favourite part was learning about her early life. It was such a fun learning experience.

Xavier

In Term 3 on the 14th of July  the year 6s went to the Mary Mackillop heritage center for our new religion topic, The gifts and fruits of the holy spirit.

We got to look at Mary Mackillop's wheel chair which was really cool and fascinating. We even saw a window that came from our church!!!

James

In term 3 the grade 5s have been doing a homework project on inspirational people. We needed to choose a person and answer questions about them then we needed to make a slide show. Then later on in the project we need to make a portrait of your inspirational person. We can do it however we want like sketch, paint, draw any way you want as long as it is creative and made by you. We also have to add pictures or images and make sure we make it descriptive.

Tavi

Year 6s have been doing a Saint project for Confirmation, we chose our Saint name and have been researching about them for homework. Year 5s have been doing an Inspirational person, they have been also researching them for homework. This gives us an opportunity to learn about our Saints and Inspirational people.
