From the Principal's Desk
Dear parents, families and friends,
Welcome to Term 3.
A lot has happened over the past three weeks, so sit back, get comfortable and enjoy this bumper issue.
Grandparents & Special Adults Day
On Thursday 23rd July we celebrated Grandparents and Special Adults Day.
This is a very special day as we celebrate and say thank you to our grandparents and special adults in our lives. Grandparents are a wonderful gift from God. They love us, care for us, tell us stories, teach us new things, and help us to grow with kindness and faith.
On this day we also remember Saints Joachim and Anne, who were the grandparents of Jesus. They loved and cared for Mary, the mother of Jesus, and helped her grow in faith and love. Their lives remind us how important grandparents are in our families and how they help share God's love from one generation to the next.
We thank God for all our grandparents—those who are here with us today, those who live far away, and those who are now with God in heaven. We ask God to bless them with happiness, good health, and peace.
It was wonderful to see so many family members join us for mass to start the day. We then moved back to the classrooms, where our Grandparents and all family members engaged in an activity to create family chains. Finally, we finished with morning tea in the hall for all our special visitors. Many of our grandparents joined the children in the playground during lunchtime.
Capital Works Building Project
Work is slowly progressing. At this point after all the delays we have had to work around, the anticipated finish date for the project is early to mid December. There is a possibility of getting into the building before this date if everything goes to schedule from now on.
Last Friday 24th July we held a Sod Turn Ceremony to celebrate the commencement of construction work. Joining us in the ceremony were the following guests:

School Review
Over Thursday 16th, Monday 20th and Wednesday 22nd July we welcomed Lorraine Kennedy, School Reviewer to conduct an onsite visit as part of the school review process. Lorraine spent her timing visiting grades, and speaking with students, staff and parents to gather data and insights into how are school is running and performing. She will now complete a review report and present this to us in August. This report will then inform our School Improvement Plan and Annual Action Plans for the next 4 years.
Child Safe Standards
MACS and St. Augustine's are committed to ensuring child safe envronments. There are 11 Child Stafe Standards that all schools and organisations that work with children must achieve to ensure a child safe environment. The staff have be exploring each of the 11 Standards during staff meetings. Below you will find information about Child Safe Standards 1, 2 and 3.
Parish Schools Community Fair
Three Schools, One Amazing Community Fair!
The countdown is on – just 106 sleeps to go!
The excitement is building! In just 106 sleeps, our much-anticipated Annunciation, Corpus Christi and St Augustine's Community Fair will come to life on Saturday 14 November, from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm at Corpus Christi School, Kingsville.
There’ll be something for everyone, including thrilling rides, delicious food, market stalls, live entertainment, games, raffles … did someone say dunk tank and plenty of family-friendly activities. It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate our vibrant school communities and raise valuable funds to support our students.

We're looking for enthusiastic parents and carers to help bring the Community Fair to life.

Book Week 2026
The Book Week theme for 2026 is 'A Symphony of Stories'. More information will be available soon. The focus will be dressing up as fictional characters from either the Book Week Books that the students will be reading or from their favourite story or book.
We have joined the Lombards Fundraising Club, so any purchase you make at Lombards for Book Week costumes and you mention our school name, 5% will be donated to our school library.
