Kitchen Garden

This term, our Junior students have been busy learning about the life cycle of tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables. Looking at how a tiny seed grows into a mature plant that produces fruit. They investigated the different stages of growth and gained an understanding of the care and conditions needed for healthy tomato plants to thrive.
The students also enjoyed developing their practical cooking skills by preparing a variety of delicious recipes. They worked together to make hearty potato and leek soup, savoury muffins, and pumpkin scones. Throughout these cooking experiences, students practised important kitchen skills including measuring ingredients, following recipes, mixing, chopping, and working safely and cooperatively in the kitchen.
It has been wonderful to see the students' enthusiasm and confidence grow as they learn about healthy foods, where food comes from, and how to prepare simple and nutritious meals. We are very proud of their efforts and look forward to more exciting kitchen adventures throughout the year.
