Visual Arts

Students across the school have been busy exploring a range of exciting artistic techniques and creative projects in Visual Arts this term.
Our senior students have been developing their observational drawing skills through charcoal artworks, creating both landscapes and portraits. They have learned how to use shading, blending, and contrast to add depth and detail to their work. Students also explored one-point perspective, applying their understanding of line and space to create impressive "cities from above" drawings that demonstrate a strong sense of depth and design. Students used vibrant pastels to create colourful emu artworks, experimenting with texture and colour blending techniques.
Junior students have also been discovering the versatility of charcoal. They observed and sketched landscapes found within our school grounds, carefully looking at shapes, textures, and natural features. Their creativity continued with bright and imaginative pastel robot drawings, where students explored colour and pattern to bring their designs to life.
Literature has also inspired our young artists this term. After exploring picture books such as Thelma the Unicorn, students examined how illustrations help tell a story. They then designed and created their own unique unicorn characters, showcasing their imagination and artistic flair.
We are proud of the enthusiasm, creativity, and skill development demonstrated by all students and look forward to sharing more of their wonderful artwork throughout the year.
