REMINDER:  Book Club Orders are due tomorrow, Friday 24 October. 

LOOP orders can be made up until 8pm on Friday night. Remaining orders from today will be processed first thing on Monday.  

Please remind children who have placed orders, that they take about a week to arrive from Sydney AFTER the close off date.  Having said that, it can feel like an age when you’re waiting for something exciting to arrive!!

Overdue Books

Thank you to those parents/guardians that got in touch about the overdue listings emailed a couple of weeks ago.  We ended up with quite a few pesky books returned that were hiding in classroom library’s and under beds etc. 

If you need to pay for a book that has gone missing, and you have the QKR app, you can pay for it through there. The instructions are:

Menu - School Payments - Books & Fees - Misc - Lost Library Book Payment.

Otherwise, payments can be made at the Front Office.

Another issue that can happen is that sometimes a book can be accidentally scanned into the account of the wrong person.  Most teachers when they are borrowing the books, will let students know if they have books already on their accounts to remind them, however things do happen. If you have any library books hanging around at home/in the car/at grandma’s house, that was not on an overdue listing sent home, please return these to us as well. Library books should be quite easy to spot. They tend to have stickers on the spine and the back right hand top corner, and most have a Woodend Primary sticker on the front cover and on the first page.  

I absolutely appreciate any help I can get with the return of as many books as possible. As I have mentioned before, on any given day, we had in excess of over 200 overdue books needing to be returned. It is now down to about 150 per day, which is better, but still not great. My new motto might be…”Let’s bring them home!!”.
