Main Campus - Year 4

What an exciting 2 weeks for our Year 4 students!

Last Friday we welcomed the Year 3 students to Carlsruhe for their first orientation session. We completed a mapping activity, scavenger hunt booklet and created a Google Slide about what we love about Carlsruhe and what the Year 3 students are looking forward to. Students got to visit with the animals and some lucky students even got a cuddle with our guinea pigs! The soccer game on the oval at recess was EPIC! What a wonderful experience for our Year 3 students. We know there are many Year 4 students who love Carlsruhe so much, they don’t want to leave!

There will be a Parent Orientation Meeting at Carlsruhe for current Year 3 parents on Wednesday 29th of October, starting at 6pm. If you would like to look around the Carlsruhe campus and have a quick tour, please arrive at 5.45pm.

In Writing, we have been writing poems with vivid imagery. Inspired by a video showcasing what happens at Carlsruhe when the students leave, students created some amazing sentences about Carlsruhe.

All students have been sent home with a copy of the Confidential Camp Form. Please complete and return this form to school as soon as possible.

We understand that some students’ medical details or medications may change before camp, however, it’s important that we inform the camp of any dietary requirements as soon as possible.

When filling out the form, please be specific about any allergies or intolerances to ensure we can best support your child’s needs.

This week 4LS and 4SM start their final rotation of Activities. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered their time to help. We still have a few gaps so please get in touch with Alison or Lisa if you are free Friday mornings between 9.45am and 11am. Thank you for the donations of vegetables and herbs, we would love a few more to fill our empty spaces!

In Maths, we have been learning about Equivalent Fractions, Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions. We have been having lots of fun with hands on tasks and real world examples.
