Principal's Report

The term has continued with energy, positivity and purpose across both campuses. Classrooms are buzzing with engaged learners, strong routines are well established, and it has been wonderful to see students strengthening friendships and building positive relationships with their teachers. There is a strong sense of momentum as our learning programs gather pace.

Conferences

Thank you to the many families who have attended our recent parent–teacher conferences. These conversations are such an important part of strengthening the partnership between home and school. When we work together with a shared understanding of each child’s strengths, goals and next steps, we create the very best conditions for growth and success.

Breakfast Club Update - Millgrove Campus

Due to renovations in the canteen, Breakfast Club will not run next week at our Millgrove Campus, with the exception of Friday. We are pleased to share that Mr Barnard will still be cooking pancakes in the Community Building on Friday morning, giving students a special end to the week. We are looking forward to having Breakfast Club fully up and running again very soon in our brand new canteen kitchen, and can’t wait to welcome students back into the space to see it buzzing once more with warm food, friendly faces and a positive start to the day.

Student Electives

Our weekly electives program continues to be a highlight for many students, with gardening, cooking, bike education and Ben’s Shed providing valuable hands-on learning opportunities in meaningful, real-world contexts. Students explore new interests, build practical skills and develop independence as they follow processes, create, build and reflect on their learning. These sessions foster teamwork, problem-solving and creativity, with students collaborating, sharing ideas and taking genuine pride in what they produce and achieve. It is wonderful to see their confidence grow as they step outside their comfort zones, show resilience when things don’t go to plan, and engage so enthusiastically in their learning.

NAPLAN 2026

As you may be aware, the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) for our Year 3 and Year 5 students will take place from Wednesday 11 March to Friday 13 March 2026. Students who are absent during this time will complete catch-up assessments the following week.

NAPLAN assesses student knowledge and skills in Writing, Reading, Language Conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and Numeracy. It is one measure used by schools and education authorities to understand how students are progressing in literacy and numeracy. While NAPLAN provides helpful information about student achievement at a point in time, it is just one part of the broader picture of your child’s learning and development.

School Council Nominations 2026–2027

A Notice of Election and Call for Nominations has been posted at the school office for the 2026–2027 School Council year. We currently have 2 parent vacancies.

If you would like to self-nominate or nominate another parent, please come to the office to complete a nomination form. Nominations must be lodged by 4pm on Friday, 27 February. If more nominations are received than there are vacancies, a ballot will be conducted.

School Council plays an important role in supporting the strategic direction and governance of our school, and meets twice per term. The first meeting of the new School Council will be held at 6:30pm on Monday 16 March 2026. We warmly encourage families to consider being part of this important work.
