Grade 3 & 4

Term 1- Week 6

In inquiry, we have also been learning about the difference between laws and rules. We now understand that laws are made by the government and apply to everyone, while rules are made by schools or families to keep things fair and safe. We understand why following both is important.

In Creative Media, we have been learning how to be Cyber Smart. We’ve learnt how to stay safe online by respecting others, being responsible, and listing adults we trust to help us if we need help. We have also been practicing typing without looking at the keys. It’s tricky, but we will improve with practice and become faster and more accurate.

Recently, the Grade 4’s had swimming sports with St Brigid’s. It was a fun and exciting experience where we got to compete, cheer for our teammates, and show good sportsmanship.

In Literacy, we are reading the texts Elves and the Shoemaker and Feathers for Phoebe. We are investigating simple sentences, noun phases, subordinate clauses, independent and dependent clauses. We are practicing choral reading, where we read as a group or we read to a partner. We are also working with prefixes and suffixes.

In week 4 we attended Ash Wednesday Mass with our Christian community, this signified the beginning of Lent in our church.
