Principal's Report

Tim Furphy, Principal

Welcome back to term 4 everyone, we've heard all about many adventures had over the holiday break.

This Friday marks Miss Pems last day with us before beginning her maternity leave. We wish her all the best and are very excited to hear the news of her little one when she comes along.

You've all seen by now that we're in the process of evolving our school values. We don't want to flip these completely and pivot to other priorities. The aim instead is to express them in more child-friendly language. We want our values to be more than just words on a poster, we want them to be values that our students easily understand, can talk about and put into practice every day. By using clear, simple language, we hope to create a shared understanding of what our values look and sound like in the classroom, in the playground and throughout our school community. This will also support our restorative conversations when things go wrong, helping students reflect on their choices, understand how their actions affect others and consider what they can do to make things right. Currently there's a survey running for families to contibute their ideas (see Compass). We're excited for this process and see a wonderful opportunity to rebrand our values in more easily accessible and actionable ways fro all students.

I understand this time of year can be anxious for some, whether that's moving to high school next year, moving on from NPS or just wondering about class structure/teaching staff in 2027. We are currently working through this process and as you can appreciate, there are many moving parts to all these things within a small school environment. Please be patient while we get this finalised. Rest assured, we want the best for all our students!!!!!

COMMUNITY STORY TIME

Community Story Time is back on again this term  on Wednesdays. As we don't have a local library in our community, this is an opportunity to bring any children in the area, to listen to a story and complete a fun activity.  We hope you can make it!
