Music Camp
The Music Department of John XXIII College’s annual Music Camp is set to depart for its first visit to the Swan Valley Adventure Camp! The Music Camp is one of the most anticipated events of the College calendar, as over 200 young musicians converge on the Swan Valley for a weekend of music-making. Music Camp is attended by all Secondary ensembles.
Music Camp presents musicians of the College with a unique opportunity to engage in intensive rehearsals, preparing repertoire for a busy season of performances, and enjoy the community of their ensembles. Students will be challenged to build musicianship and skills, but also to enjoy the surroundings and the camaraderie of their musical peers. Social activities blend and introduce students from different years and ensembles, encouraging students to grow their musical community.
Students will depart the College by bus on Friday, 12 June at 9:30am. Due to limited space on the passenger buses, all students will need to drop off their instruments at the Performing Arts Centre by 8:30am on Thursday, 11 June.
Students who have attended past Music Camps will recall a staple of the event, the Camp Concert. This year's concert will be held in the Assembly Hall, at 1:00pm. Students may return home with their parents after the concert on Sunday or, be collected from the College at approximately 4:00pm. If intending to collect students from camp, please complete the following survey by Friday, 5 June: Music Camp - Return Travel. In coming days, automated excursion forms will be sent via Consent2Go.
Detailed information regarding what to bring, contact details, student expectations and camp rules are outlined by clicking the following link: 2026 Music Camp - Briefing Pack.
With any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Music Office on 9383 0440. We look forward to the camp!
