Principal's Report

Last weekend I had the pleasure to welcome some former students into our school for the most wonderful of occasions. I had been originally contacted around twelve months ago by an ex-student from the school named Sophie, from our class of 2009. She shared with me that she was engaged to be married…to a fellow member of her year level cohort from CSPS! Sophie and I exchanged emails back and forth and arranged for some pre-wedding photos to be taken at the very school in which Sophie and her now-husband Shaun first met. Sophie and Shaun also had their siblings, who also attended the school, here for the photos and as part of the bridal party. Stories like this are what makes schools so special, and I asked (and received) permission from Sophie and Shaun to share a photo from their time returning to our school (apologies for my underdressed state!).

Earlier this week, we were fortunate to have approximately 60 members of our school community attend an event hosted by Community Bank Caulfield Park about cyber safety, led by Australia’s leading cyber safety expert, Susan McLean. Susan’s experience internationally in this area give her an incredibly valuable insight into how to keep children safe in an online environment and the practical, no-nonsense strategies she shared to manage gaming and devices were invaluable. Our sincerest thank to Community Bank Caulfield Park for sponsoring this event alongside our School Council, led by President Jackie Dzienciol. More details are to come in following editions regarding Susan’s strategies and resources.
The enrolment period for Prep 2027 is now open, with parents invited to enrol their child/ren into school via the new online ‘Student Insights’ portal (accessed via ‘VicStudents’ and Service Victoria). To support enrolment, we also invite you to join us on a school tour, running each Friday from 9:30am (book tickets here), as well as an upcoming information night led by our school leadership team and student leaders:
What: 2027 Prep Information Night
When: Tuesday 12th May @ 5:30pm
Where: Senior Learning Centre, Year 5 end.
How: Book tickets here.
A week later, school leaders will present the ‘annual report to community’ from 5:00pm. All Victorian Government Schools are required to report against the previous years achievements in the school both in writing (you can view the report on our school website here) and at an in-person event. If you are interested in attending this event, please book tickets via CompassTix here.
On Monday 4th May, I was notified by the Department of Education that the Australian Education Union (AEU) has announced that proposed stop work action has been suspended of two weeks (from the date of notification, Monday 4th May). When I receive further updates, I will share them with you.
Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.
