“Come to me, all you who labour and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” Matthew (11:28-30)

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,

Sharing the heartbreaking news of Libby's loss weighs heavily on all of our hearts and our minds.  In times of sorrow, the strength of our school community lies in our compassion and our care for each other.

As we continue to hold Libby, Mitch and their family in our thoughts, we also commit to keeping our school a safe, steady and supportive community for our young people, staff and families.  In the spirit of community, the remainder of this newsletter focuses on the everyday life of learning and special highlights of our school community, anchoring us in our daily routines whilst we navigate this sad time together.

God of tenderness and mercy,

Embrace this precious child entrusted to your loving care,

Walk gently with Libby, Mitch and their families in the days, months and years ahead.

Grant them moments of peace amidst sorrow, strength amidst weariness, and hope amidst grief.

Help us as a community to reflect your love through our care and compassion.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Catholic Schools Week 2026

Throughout Catholic Schools Week (24th to 30th May), Catholic Schools in the Armidale Diocese will continue to share in the spirit of connection and celebration as each school brings the celebration to their community.

As a special highlight for our school leaders, the Stage Three students will be attending the Deanery Mass at the Catherdral this Wednesday.  Joining with other Armidale Cluster Schools for a beautiful celebratory Mass! We look forward to Ned and Miles reading the Prayers of the Faithful.

Catholic Schools Week is a meaningful reminder that our schools are more than places of learning – they are communities of faith, hope and love open to all.

OPEN Morning

Thank you to everyone who joined us in opening the school for our Open Morning on the 2nd of May.  It was wonderful to share morning tea and share memories of past and current members of our school community.

To this moment... no body has found all of the items on our SCAVENGER HUNT list!

Wishing you all a peaceful weekend,
