Year 11 HHD Students "teaching" our Year 7's
This week the amazing Year 11 HHD students swapped roles with Miss Luiyf for the day and they were the teachers. As part of their current unit- nutrition, the students each taught the Year 7's about a range of nutrition topics. This was to help prepare them for their upcomming assessment task on Nutrition as we know that by doing/ teaching you are more likely to remember. The students all did a wonderful job, and we may have some potential future teachers in the making.
"The best way of learning about anything is by doing. Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. You don't learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing, and by falling over." Richard Branson (2010)
Year 12 VM Incursion: Safe Policing at Schools
Year 12 VM students attended a very engaging interactive presentation on work safety organised by Headstart and Victoria Police. Students learnt about safety on work sites, on the road, and in different scenarios.
Year 12 Food Studies Excursion: Victoria Market
The Year 12 Food Studies class went on a field trip to Victoria Market to build on their understanding of how values, beliefs and food access can interact to inform people's choices in how they purchase food.
