Catholic Identity

Mercy Prayer
We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have served at St. Mary’s.
It is through their vision, determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.
We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.
Mother’s Day Mass
Our Mother’s Day Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 8th May at 9.15am in the Marian Centre.
All mums, grandmothers and mother figures are most welcome to join us in this special celebration!
Altar Servers 2026
Father Ruel will be offering altar server training for students this year. This is a special opportunity for students in Years 4–6 (boys and girls) to serve during school Masses.
To participate, students must have received their First Eucharist.
Training sessions will take place in the church throughout the year. Each session will run for approximately 30 minutes and will usually be scheduled close to whole-school Masses. Father Ruel and a teacher will supervise all sessions.
Students who complete the training will be invited to serve at whole-school Masses in the Marian Centre, as well as smaller class Masses in the church.
If your child is interested in becoming an altar server, please indicate your permission. If your child would also like to serve at weekend parish Masses, please let us know, and we will coordinate this with the parish.
Holy Week Liturgy
Last term our students presented the story of Holy Week including Palm Sunday, the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Thank you to our parents and friends who attended this special reflective prayer time.

Anthem - Along the Track article
The latest edition of Along the Track entitled “Anthem?” is attached to today’s newsletter.
We are by nature story people. We like hearing them and telling them. Stories tell our history and help explain what we believe and who we are, where our values lie. Some of us are good story tellers, others not so good but we still tell them anyway. But which are true, the stories people tell about us or those we tell ourselves?
