L.O.T.E. - German
Holy Spirit Community School
Guten Tag!
We had a great and busy start to Term 2 in German.
Our Prep classes collected autumn (Herbst) words and colours while our Year 1 and 2s learned the twelve months of the year (Januar, Februar, März, April, Mai, Juni, Juli, August, September, Oktober, November, Dezember) and the 4 seasons (Frühling, Sommer, Herbst, Winter).
Our Year 3 and 4 students discovered that Germany and lots of other countries celebrate Christmas in winter and Easter in spring and that their birthdays would be in a different season if they lived in Europe.
While our Year 6 students were away on camp, the Year 5s presented their cultural posters to the class. Stay tuned for some photos in the next newsletter.
Bis bald!
Lena
From our LOTE/ German leaders for 2026:
Hello, we are Georgia, Charlie and Rosie, your 2026 German Captains. Over the year we will be organising German Day and helping Lena with duties around the German Classroom. We are looking forward to German day and assisting others with their learning.
