Senior School News

Upper Secondary (Years 9-10)
We would like to welcome everyone back for Term 2 and share some exciting updates from the Year 9/10 cohort.
The students have settled back into school very well and have made a positive start to the term. It has been fantastic to see them working hard each day, following our classroom systems and routines, and showing a great attitude towards their learning.
This term, we are excited to begin a new focus in Maths, where students will be developing their addition and subtraction skills through practical and engaging activities. We will also continue building our reading and spelling knowledge through our phonics program, helping students grow in confidence and independence.
We are also thrilled to launch our café program this term. Students will be preparing Chinese-style cuisine and serving staff each Thursday. This program will provide wonderful opportunities for students to build confidence, teamwork, communication and hospitality skills.
In addition, we are looking forward to continuing our Travel Training Program. Last week, students finished the term with successful visits to the State Library, South Melbourne Market, Preston Market, Queen Victoria Market and Larissa Reserve. These experiences continue to support independence, community access and real-life learning skills.
We are looking forward to another busy and successful term ahead.
Thank you for your continued support.

This term we have lots of activities to look forward to. We continue to learn about safe food practices and how to make snacks and beverages independently. Our offsite programs include travel training to Williamstown Beach, exploring a variety of markets and visiting local libraries.
This term, we have some ASDAN students participating in VPC work experience programs with Kathy and Faith. Sue’s class will be attending Mambourin, Simon’s class will continue to develop their gardening skills at Westvale Community Gardens and Jo’s class are helping to organise school lunch orders every Tuesday. Overall, a very busy term lies ahead.
