Junior School News

Foundation (Prep)
Prep A have settled back into school beautifully over the last week. It has been lovely to see them return after the holidays and take part in our school routines. This term, we are learning about friendship. We have been exploring our classroom role play area and small world set up to practise playing with different toys, modelling interactions through play and learning how to share and take turns. We will continue to build on this throughout the term.
Foundation (Year 1-Year 2)
We have had a lovely start to our term. We enjoyed reconnecting with our friends and teachers after the school holiday. We began our inquiry into ‘Me and My Friends’ through creating writing pieces based on our friends in 1/2D. We made Anzac biscuits and poppies in remembrance for Anzac Day.
1/2D students have been developing their addition and subtraction skills through learning the ‘Part-Part-Whole' model. 1/2D look forward to a term packed full of fun and learning!
Lower Primary (Years 3-4)
We have had such a great start to the term in 3/4D. We were introduced to a new character, ‘Mr McGee’. Through Writing this term, we will be learning all about Mr McGee and his funny stories. So far, we have made his hat, eaten wiggly apple skins and made balloons float and fly as we explore the first book, it has been a lot of fun!
Last Friday, our students enjoyed making ANZAC biscuits and exploring new ingredients they might not have tried before. We had a few surprised students when they discovered the biscuits were delicious!
Coming up this term, we will be learning all about celebrations focusing on, what our families celebrate and how we celebrate.
