Reflections on Faith

Tenterfield Jubilee Deanery Mass

On Tuesday, Stage 2 students travelled to Tenterfield to join in the Deanery Mass, celebrated by Father John McHugh and hosted by St. Joseph's Tenterfield. A deanery mass is a special service of worship celebrated within a deanery, a regional grouping of parishes within a diocese. These masses can be part of a larger series of events, in this case part of the Jubilee Year. After a delicious lunch, we were lucky enough to spend some time playing in the park, which coincidently was Jubilee Park!

Catholic Schools Week

26th to 30th May

Next week, our school joins Catholic schools across the nation in celebrating Catholic Schools Week! It's a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the unique and invaluable contribution Catholic education makes to the lives of our students, their families, and the wider community.

Catholic schools are more than just places of learning; they are communities rooted in faith, where students are nurtured academically, spiritually, and emotionally. We strive to create an environment where Gospel values are lived, and each child is encouraged to reach their full potential.

We will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week in 3 special ways:

Firstly: Whole School Liturgy

We warmly invite all families and community members to join us for a special liturgy on Tuesday afternoon in the school hall, starting at 2:45pm. This will be a time for us to come together in prayer and celebrate the spirit of our Catholic school. We would be delighted to have you with us.

Secondly: Diocesan Mass

Adding to the week's special events, on Wednesday our Stage 3 students will be travelling to Armidale to participate in a significant Mass alongside approximately 400 other students from schools across our Diocese. This will be a powerful experience for them, fostering a sense of unity and shared faith within the broader Catholic community. Following Mass the Diocesan Spirit of Catholic Education awards will be presented.

Thirdly: Tabloid Sports  Afternoon

To conclude our Catholic Schools Week celebrations, on Friday we will have a fun tabloid sports activity for all students from 2.30pm on the school oval.

Parents/carers are warmly welcomed to come and watch.

Catholic Schools Week is a time to give thanks for the dedication of our teachers, the support of our families, and most importantly, the wonderful students who bring our school to life. We look forward to celebrating with you!
